Implementation and funding of 2016 reforms to the Toxic Substances Control Act [P.L.94-469]; No IRIS Act (S.623);
BASF supports regulatory processes that are science-based, transparent, and stable, as well as increased EPA funding, staffing, and regulatory efficiency to ensure that safe, sustainable chemistries can reach the market in a timely manner.
Chemical Facility Security (H.R.5061 - Counter-UAS Authority, Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act; S.1337 - Cybersecurity Information Sharing Extension Act; H.R. 5079 - Widespread Information Management for the Welfare of Infrastructure and Government Act).
BASF supports FAA establishment of a critical infrastructure designation over chemical facilities and the use of countermeasures to protect against unauthorized drone flights. BASF also advocates for policies that promote physical and cybersecurity, as well as safety at chemical plants across the supply chain.
Plastics (S.351 - STEWARD Act; H.R.4109 - Recycling and Composting Accountability Act; H.R. 2145 - Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act).
BASF supports policies that promote recycling and composting and improve recovery and recycling infrastructure, rather than banning or taxing specific products.
Open Competition (no bills).
BASF supports public policies ensuring that open, competitive bidding procedures are used for selecting materials in federally funded infrastructure projects.
Microplastics (H.R.4903 - Plastic Health Research Act).
BASF supports policies that reduce plastic pollution in the environment, including pollution from nanoplastics and microplastics.
Advanced Recycling (no bills).
BASF supports policies that formally recognize advanced recycling technologies and mass balance accounting as critical to growing the circular economy, eliminating plastic pollution, and protecting the environment.

H.R.1 - One Big Beautiful Bill Act. BASF supports preservation of energy efficiency and other incentives enhanced by Inflation Reduction Act (P.L.117-169), including IRC Sec. 25C, Sec. 45L, Sec. 179D, Sec. 45X, and Sec. 45Z.
