Section 117 Foreign Gifts and Contracts Disclosures: Support for transparency and research security. Support for ED to provide clearer guidance, engage more directly with institutions, and reconsider plans to expand public disclosure through its new foreign funding reporting portal. Oppose several proposed reporting requirements that exceed statutory authority and create significant compliance burdens.

Opposed S. 4114, which would have higher education institutions responsible for a portion of student borrowers' unpaid federal student loans.

Discussed issues around various bills focusing on financial aid offers to students. Expressed support for the flexibility provided under S. 4435/S. 1558 compared to the more prescriptive versions in the House (H.Rs. 3153, 6502, 6498)

Support for the Department of Labor's interest in ensuring that the H-1B and related programs are administered in a manner that protects U.S. workers, prevents misuse of prevailing-wage requirements, and maintains the wage safeguards Congress established.

Oppose the proposed rule that rests on generalized labor-market assumptions that do not reflect how the H-1B and PERM programs operate in higher education - request exemption of higher education institutions or phased implementation to proposed policy.

Oppose lengthy delays in processing time for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewal applications.

Support efficient processing of these DACA renewals to continue the academic, economic, and social contributions of DACA recipients at institutions of higher education and broader communities.
